Caribana Ignite will feature a stunning street theatre presentation and street party that showcases the true essence of carnival, the hottest up-and-coming carnival designers, and the diversity and vibrancy of the Caribbean, all in one celebration.

•  Day one: Friday, August 23, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
•  Day two: Saturday, August 24, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
•  Location: Carl Zehr Square in Downtown Kitchener 
•  Cost: free 

Friday, August 23 – Festival Weekend Kick-off and Glow Party

This jam-packed evening will feature the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Caribbean with music, dancing, food, and more. Wear an outfit in a colour representing your community, and grab a free glow stick to help light the square! Wear green for Kitchener, yellow for Waterloo, red for Cambridge, and white for the surrounding townships, and pick up a free glow stick to help light the night.

Saturday, August 24 – Carnival Sunday

Meet us on the road to experience the vibrancy and energy of carnival with this spectacular street parade! Revelers will travel along King Street from Queen Street to Water Street, showcasing stunning costumes, energetic dance, and live music with steel drums, soca, and reggae. The party will continue at Carl Zehr Square and Gaukel Block with a vibrant cultural celebration, including food trucks, vendors, and a kids’ zone.
